In the summer, my favorite haunts are two local forest preserves where I count breeding birds. My early morning walks provide inspiration and impressions unique to each species which I bring to bring life with pastels. I combine the charm and familiar behaviors of our beloved local birds with sunlight and wind in my landscapes. These paintings pay homage to places and animals that have shared glimpses of their lives with me. I transfer them from my heart to the “canvas.”
